OHAU /LAKE BENMORE: 13k South of
Twizel, take road on L, follow the Canal and
turn left at sign to Ohau “C”
Power station. Carry on about 1k to
Camping Ground on lakefront. This is a low
cost camp, toilets, water and rubbish. Lots
of good level sites, look out back window
over lake, side window see Mt.Cook between
trees. Very quiet, but best to avoid peak
holiday times. Dump site in grounds. Walk
along
the lake edge, can go quite a long way to
another reserve.
